Wrap up for winter "How to effectively plan your next project"

Winter is on it's way, personally I have loved the frosty mornings and blue bird days. Our team are looking forward to a days skiing with the social club

and nothing beats flames flickering while you wind down for the night.

While it's dark and cold outside I think it is the perfect opportunity to start planning renovation projects. Here are my top 3 tips to get you through winter so you can enjoy the summer in style.

Keep on top of the small stuff. Yip i'm guilty of letting the small stuff build up. This slows down the real progress. I'm a big fan of keeping on top of the little jobs throughout winter so when spring roles around I can focus my energy into what's going to bring the most benefit to our family.

Rest up. Easier said than done, winter is a hibernation time. It is worth enjoying the darker evenings and getting some rest ready to tackle your spring renovation projects.

Preparation and planning. With the fire cranking and a nice beverage of your choice in hand. You can spend the evenings looking at photo's and researching products you might like to use on your renovation

project. If your project involves trades and other people now is the time to book them in. You don't want to miss out!

BONUS TIP

Don't leave it too late. With all this preparation and planning you need to book material and trades in. We are constantly getting desperate calls from people as we are getting close to Christmas and summer. There's only so many good trades people out there and a lot more people wanting their job done yesterday. Beat the rush and get things booked in early.

BONUS BONUS TIP

If you pay a deposit the trades people are more likely to show up when you want them to. I had an experience recently where someone paid in full based off my quote. This was well played on their behalf. I shuffled a few things around and got there ASAP. I did not want them to even slightly get the feeling that I would run off with their money.
