3 Reasons why you should renovate
Updated: Jun 8
Renovations and restorations are the best way to look after our amazing world. Let's go on a journey together to understand my top 3 reasons to renovate your old house.
Environmentally friendly: Yes, everyone is jumping on the bandwagon. We all want our kids and their kids to enjoy a clean earth. So why not preserve what you have and customize it to suit your needs. The best way to care for our environment is to maintain everything to a high standard and get the most years of use possible. Durability IS sustainability.
Existing services: One of the frustrating things about building new is all the new connections. For example if you live in a rural area you will need to get a septic tank, find some source of reliable internet, run some power to the house and sort out a water supply. However, when renovating you are extending all the services that are already there. This could save you thousands!
Livability: This is something that I personally think is very important. For most people, their house is their biggest investment. People spend a lot of time in their home and often enjoy hosting friends around for parties and the like. By renovating your existing house you already know what bugs you about your home and what pitfalls are existing. So by choosing renovation, you have the opportunity to fix the bad and treasure the good, or make the good great!
These are my top 3 reasons why personally I am looking for an old house on a nice block that I can renovate and make great. I would love to hear from some of you what home projects you are looking at or currently taking on. What are the reasons that you decided to renovate?
